Celebrating Women’s History Month

March 10 2021

The month of March is Women’s History Month. This month-long celebration is about the empowerment of women around the world. We are capable, we are enough, and we are important.

The celebration of women’s history didn’t begin until 1978, the event grew out of a weeklong celebration of women’s contributions to culture, history and society organized by the school district of Sonoma, California. Jimmy Carter issued Women’s History week on March 8th. A few years later, Congress then declared the month of March to be Women’s History Month.

Now the celebration is a month-long and highlights historical figures such as Rosa Parks, Abigail Adams, Amelia Earhart, Anna Frank, Maya Angelou, and many many more. Not only does this month celebrate historical women, it celebrates grandmothers, mothers, daughters, nieces, and sisters. When we come together, all things are possible!

As for Ivy Greis, we are a woman owned company, our company is predominantly women, and we create products for women. It has been truly amazing to see mothers and daughters around the world in our pieces.
